British portal Sky News today reported, citing its sources, about an interesting meeting scheduled for next week at the British Prime Minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street. According to their information, Microsoft was invited on April 26 to organized by the UK industry body responsible for the gaming industry, UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE).
What kind of products should Microsoft demonstrate at this meeting is not specified. But its date coincides with the deadline for the UK antitrust regulator (CMA) to make its decision on the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Sky News writes that the confluence of two such important events for Microsoft on the same day is “bewildering”, especially when there is a risk of blocking the deal by the regulator, which will cause “damage” to Microsoft’s relationship with the government.
Let’s remind, earlier there was information that the British regulator plans on April 25 or 26 to announce its final decision on the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
