Deck13 may not be considered a AAA studio in the industry, but their great work with Lords of the Fallen y The Surge makes them a team that knows how to get good results with limited resources. And Atlas Fallen seems to follow the same path.
This new ”gritty” soulslike is one of the most interesting titles of the year. It was originally going to be released on May 16, but Focus and Deck13 decided to push the release back to August 10.
There are a few reasons for this delay. A general level, Deck13 guys want to improve game performanceand correct some aspects that did not convince the players in the test pass (here you can read our impressions).

Atlas Fallen – Gameplay Trailer
In an interview with Wccftech, Deck13 director and co-founder Jan Klose reveals new aspects of Atlas Fallen in several sections: duration, playability, difficulty, inspirations…
They also promise that different improvements will be applied to Atlas Fallen in these months, with the aim of offering a more solid game on PC and consoles.

First of all, the director of Atlas Fallen believes that this will be a more accessible and dizzying game than its previous titles. In that sense, Atlas Fallen is more of an action-RPG (with a dose of hack and slash) rather than a soulslike to use, as were The Surge and its sequel.
What are the inspirations for Atlas Fallen? In addition to being a gritty game (something Anakin Skywalker doesn’t like, but we do), Klose says there are a few AAA titles that motivated this action-adventure.
“Our team was inspired by some major titles like God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn, while we thought it would be a lot of fun to catch up with the Devil May Cry rhythm and some of the customization fun of Monster Hunter.”
During these months that the delay lasts, the guys from Deck13 will work on various aspects of Atlas Fallen. They comment that they are very excited voiceover in germansince they are a study of German origin.
“We are on our way to improving the balance of our three difficulty levels even more delicately, making the game perform better and improving the overall feel of the game quite a bit.”
Of course, do not expect Atlas Fallen to be an RPG to use. Klose indicates that he is more action oriented, with small decisions that we can make at times. Exploration is also a notable factor (which leads to unique and epic confrontations).
Regarding the duration of the title, the director of Atlas Fallen believes that it is around 20 or 25 hours. Of course, he points out that it can be even more durable if we want to discover all the secrets, mini-bosses and collectibles.
“A normal game can easily last 20-25 hours, depending on your play style, and if you want to explore every corner of the world and fight all the mini-bosses, it can take a lot longer!”
In relation to the cooperative mode for 2 players, Atlas Fallen has achieved something really difficult: Have the second player appear in all story cutscenes. In this way it becomes a more immersive experience.

Atlas Fallen is one of the bombings that come to us after the summer. From August 10th, a furious sandstorm rages on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. Will it live up to The Surge and its sequel?
