Hybrid console par excellence, the Nintendo Switch OLED attracts a lot of covetousness. However, it becomes much more recommendable when it is reduced, as currently thanks to Rakuten which offers it at 279 euros instead of 349 euros.

With its larger screen than the classic model and above all its OLED quality, the Nintendo Switch OLED made an impression when it was released at the end of 2021, even if it does not have the makings of a Pro model, which was highly anticipated before the official launch of the OLED model. But, the Nintendo Switch OLED is still a very good hybrid console, and at the moment, it becomes even more recommendable since it costs 70 euros less than usual.

A nice screen, which is even bigger
One of the first assets of the Nintendo Switch OLED is obviously its OLED panel, which promises, as tradition dictates, infinite contrasts, deep blacks (the black pixels being extinguished with this display technology) and the colors really vibrant. Enough to chain the parties in a much more pleasant way. The screen also measures 7 inches, against 6.2 inches for the classic model. However, this size gain does not change the dimensions of the console, which retains the same size. We will simply be entitled to much thinner screen borders, which promotes a little more immersion in the game.
Helpful little changes
A few improvements made by Nintendo make it possible to differentiate the Switch OLED and the previous model. The brand first chose to rethink its dock, this support which allows the console to be connected to a television to play on a larger screen. Now, it adopts more rounded corners, but above all, it now has an Ethernet port, which allows you to connect to a fixed wired Internet network for better speeds. The game sessions will thus be able to run more fluidly. Next to it, we still have the HDMI port for connection to the TV and the USB-C for power supply.
In addition, the Switch OLED is equipped with a more solid kickstand than on the previous model, which will benefit those who are used to placing the console on a table to play with others. The support, which extends over the entire length of the Switch, is therefore much more robust. What does not change, however, is the Tegra X1 + chip engraved in 7 nm, which already equipped the classic 2019 model, which still had the advantage of ensuring increased autonomy. However, we cannot count on a definition beyond 720p (1,280 x 720 pixels), and therefore not on 4K.
