The Street Fighter series is preparing to return, and Capcom expects unprecedented numbers for its historic fighting game franchise. The house of Osaka has in fact declared to estimate over 10 million copies sold by Street Fighter 6.
During an interview granted to the Japanese magazine Famitsu, the representative director of Capcom, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, spoke about the sales expectations for the next numbered chapter of the series. Assuming that Street Fighter V managed to sell over 7 million of units over the course of its lifecycle, the company expects the success to be not only replicated, but also surpassed by achieving more than 10 million units sold. To make sure the results come, Capcom has worked on the product in all its aspects, with a greater focus on the eSports aspect and adding “features that have expanded the genre”, here probably referring to the World Tour mode.
It should also be taken into consideration that the title, unlike its predecessor, it will also come to Xbox platforms, and this will certainly contribute to its greater diffusion. It will also be implemented cross-playthanks to which players will be able to connect and play together regardless of the reference platform.
In the meantime, Capcom tempers the anticipation for the arrival of the game with the dissemination of new Street Fighter 6 gameplay footagewith which we can take a look at some classic costumes for characters such as Guile, Zangief, Chun-Li and Ryu, and the new wrestler Manon, the “Judoka Ballet Dancer”.
While waiting for its debut on June 2 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, we remind you that you can try Street Fighte 6 with the free demo.
