Audiences who have already seen The Bogeyman praise the general tone of the film, as well as the combination of genres ranging from thriller and horror, something we expected as a good Stephen King adaptation, to up-to-the-minute drama. to reflect on pain and loss.
The performances of Chris Messina and Sophie Thatcher also stand out, as well as the atmosphere and the numerous scares that have made even the most apprehensive have to leave the room.
I (@AlexFromLP) made it through approximately 20 minutes of #TheBoogeyman before I chickened out and had to leave the #CinemaCon2023 showing. If you like scary movies… wow… if you don’t, stay away. pic.twitter.com/P5cgBYBJwe

Got to see The Boogeyman at #CinemaCon2023and I am a very happy Stephen King fan right now. Like the short story, it’s a simple horror tale, but an effective and freaky one that delivers some great monster-centric scares. Definitely a “see it with a crowd” experience. pic.twitter.com/swUiGIr40I

#TheBoogeyman is an efficient effective horror movie. You may have a sense of deja vu of other horror movies but it manages to work due to good direction, sound & atmosphere. Last 20 minutes are sweaty palms edge of your seat thriller @CinemaCon #Disney100 pic.twitter.com/7pGNK65UUG

Although some Stephen King novels were wrecked when they made the leap to the big screen, it seems that the story of The Bogeyman will properly pay tribute to the story contained in the book author’s compilation.
The film was already pointing ways from the moment Disney decided change their strategy and release it in theaters, instead of sticking with their plan to send it to Hulu. The reaction from the test audience was so overwhelming that the change was made without delay.
The boogeyman (The Boogeyman) hits theaters on June 2, 2023. Will Stephen King’s adaptation live up to the expectations that are awakening us?
