PlayStation Plus keeps its subscriber base essentially stable, according to Sony’s latest financial report. As of March 31, 2023 subscribers are 47.4 millionthe exact same number recorded the previous year, as at March 31, 2022.
Although in June 2022 the offer was remodeled with the addition of the Extra and Premium plansPlayStation Plus has not gained new subscribers on an annual basis, it is true that year on year there is no hemorrhage of subscribers but the number of subscribers remains equal to 47.4 million, without any real growth.
PlayStation Network totals 108 million active users on a monthly basis (on PS4, PS5 and mobile platforms), up two million from March 31, 2022. In the most recent quarter, Sony sold 68 million video games (down 2.5 million from the same quarter last year), of these 9.5 million are first party gamesa figure down five million units from the 14.5 million first party games sold from January to March 2022.
Digital games account for 70% of total sales of the PlayStation software, with a minimum drop of 1% on an annual basis, data which however confirm the predominance of the digital market over the physical one on PS4 and PS5.
