Developer NetherRealm Studios and publisher WB Games have teased Mortal Kombat 12. It doesn’t reveal anything significant, but it does seem to tease the game’s potential theme, and in the process, seems to hint that the game’s story will tie into Mortal Kombat 11. The teaser is part of a larger video dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the series.
Mortal Kombat 12 will be the 12th main installment in the long-running fighting game series, as the name suggests, and the 28th installment in the series if you consider each installment, whether it’s a brand new game or just an edition that already exists.
As you may know, the series has its roots in 1992 when Midway released the first game in the franchise, aptly named Mortal Kombat, for arcades. One of the series’ two creators, Ed Boon, is still involved with the series as its creative director. In particular, he is the creative director of this last part.
