05/02/2023 at 08:08 by Jusuf Hatic – Two years after the last edition, Asus ROG is introducing the Ryujin III, a new generation of its AiO water cooling system, which is to be launched in six different variants – one of them without RGB.
Asus’ portfolio has also included water cooling since 2018: The third generation of the ROG Ryujin series is now in the starting blocks, as the company announced in a press release. The compatible sockets are specified as AM5 as well as LGA 1700, LGA 115X, and LGA 1200; AM4 sockets are at least not explicitly mentioned.
Like its predecessors, the ROG Ryujin III comes as an all-in-one water cooler with the almost obligatory display, which promises “full adaptability” with its 3.5-inch diagonal. Among other things, GIF files and 60 fps videos should be able to be played on the screen. Asus has increased the available RAM to 32 megabytes for this purpose. Of course, the corresponding lighting should not be missing in the cooling solution, which is available in black and white, although Asus also announces a completely unlit version that uses Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 2000 fans.
The radiators themselves are offered in the classic 240 and 360 mm sizes; This means that those interested in buying the ROG Ryujin III can choose between a total of six models. According to Asus, the radiator is said to have seen the greatest improvement: With an 8th generation Asetek pump, which in turn uses a new three-phase motor, a higher flow rate should be possible compared to the predecessors without sacrificing noise development to go.
At the same time, the diameter of the connected hoses has been increased by 40 percent, and the base plate has grown by almost a third. Asus thus promises about two degrees Celsius lower temperatures per 100 watts of power. In both sizes with ARGB, the ROG Ryujin III is powered by in-house ROG MF 12S fans, but specific details such as volume are still pending. However, Asus did not name a release date or a price for the ROG Ryujin III models; based on the RRP of the predecessor, however, this should be upwards of 250 euros.
