Arkane Austin’s new game, the vampire shooter Redfall, was released this week. The release of the game was fraught with a lot of problems, and it seems that even Arkane’s colleagues gloated over the failure.
Sadie Boyd, who works as an artist at Arkane Austin and was involved in the creation of Redfall, wrote on her social networks that she faced criticism and gloating even from her colleagues:
I did not expect my peers, friends and colleagues to openly mock and gloat about the difficulties with the release [Redfall]. Rejoicing in the failures of others, no matter how you feel about the company, seems mean. I feel sad, confused and disappointed. I try to stay positive, really. But I’m human, I have feelings. Looking around, all I see is “They deserve it”, “Now their resumes are ruined lol”, “What fucking idiots” and so on, I’m already sick of it.
Note that her comment, which is given above, appeared on May 4th. Prior to this, on May 2 (Redfall release day), Sadie Boyd wrote the following:
Five years of blood, sweat and more blood culminated in the release of Redfall. It’s nice to see people immersing themselves in the game, sharing their thoughts, both positive and negative!
We will remind, earlier Phil Spencer admitted that Redfall became problematic at the start, he promised to improve the game in the future.
