05/07/2023 at 08:45 by Sara Petzold – The developers of Ark 2 at Wildcard have denied a release postponement of the survival game recently rumored by Digital Domain. According to the team, it was apparently an accident.
Ark 2 will not be postponed to 2025 – at least that’s what the development team at Studio Wildcard confirmed in a statement to the Gamesradar editors. The studio Digital Domain, which supports Wildcard in the development of Ark 2, had previously spoken of such a shift in its annual report.
Release specification for 2025 was “a typo”, say the developers
According to the wildcard, however, you have no idea how this date came about. Rather, according to a spokesman for the studio, it is obviously a typo. The team had previously announced a postponement of the title to the end of 2024 in order to have enough time to get used to Unreal Engine 5.
Digital Domain hasn’t yet confirmed that the date is actually a typo – but it would be odd if Wildcard didn’t know when its own game is scheduled to appear. Nevertheless, it is conceivable that the team is planning an early access release for the end of 2024 and Ark 2 (buy now) will appear as a finished version in spring 2025. A mere typo would of course be just as possible and, in our opinion, the most likely explanation.
According to the current status, Ark 2 will probably be released in about a year and a half if developer Wildcard does not decide to postpone the release again. After the three previous delays and the long period preceding the planned release, a final release in 2025 would at least not be unthinkable.
