Harry Potter fans were certainly taken aback when HBO announced that it would be working on an all-new series focusing on Harry Potter. More than that: she would be closer to what we had the chance to see in the books.
As the adaptations for the big screen left some details aside, we have listed below 7 moments that we would like to see in this new project and are essential for building the story in the series.
1. Moments involving Peeves

Anyone who has read the books knows that, among the ghosts that inhabit Hogwarts castle, one of the most wronged is certainly Peeves. While in the books he appears performing important actions, in the films he is not even mentioned.
This becomes an injustice when we remember that he helps Harry Potter himself in his early years at the school of witchcraft, and could also yield an epic moment in the series if he shows the moment of Fred and George’s escape – for whom even the poltergeist showed empathy and respect.
With all the terror he has played among students, teachers and even other ghosts, he is undoubtedly someone who deserves to be highlighted in this new production.
2. Deepening the history of the Marauders

The group formed by Sirius Black, Remus Lupine, Pedro Pettigrew and Tiago Potter is even mentioned in the movies, but it is a fact that a lot of important things involving the team were left out of the big screen.
In addition to being responsible for creating the Marauder’s Map – an item capable of showing the movement of people at Hogwarts –, they were ahead of several moments of bullying with Snapeand that made the teacher end up having a certain peeve with the protagonist.
It is also worth remembering that James, Peter and Sirius became animagus to help Lupine during his werewolf transformations while they were still students.
3. Dumbledore’s Funeral

Truth be told, the scene in the movie where students and teachers raise their wands and fire spells that create lights in the sky was actually pretty nice to punctuate Dumbledore’s death, but anyone who’s read the books knows that this was a much bigger event. .
Albus Dumbledore, in addition to being considered one of the greatest wizards of all time, was an influential person among magical creatures. So much so that his funeral received countless people, including here students, teachers, Hogwarts ghosts, centaurs that inhabit the Forbidden Forest and the mermaids of the lake.
4. The True Story of Lupine and Tonks

Anyone who has read the books has certainly wondered why the story of Lupine and Tonks has not been presented the way it deserves. In fact, seeing how the two are portrayed in the movies doesn’t even do justice to what was told in the books.
Tonks, for example, is the character who finds Harry Potter after he is attacked by Malfoy in The Half-Blood Prince – and not Luna, as we see in the movies. Another point is that at no time is there even a mention of the fact that the couple left a son after their death: Teddy Lupin, to whom Harry is even godfather.
5. Further development of house elves

With the exception of Dobby, who ended up even winning some roles in the movies that weren’t his in the books, many house-elves are not even mentioned in the adaptation for the big screen.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is filled with situations that could easily yield an episode in the new series, such as Hermione’s indignation at seeing the treatment given to creatures – leading to the creation of FALE, or Elf Liberation Support Fund – and even the story of Winky, who served the Crouch family and ended up getting involved in problems similar to alcoholism .
6. The Longbottom Family Tragedy

Neville Longbottom is a character who had everything to take the place of Harry Potter – at least with regard to the prophecy made by Professor Sybil, since she said that a child born at the end of July would defeat the Dark Lord, which ended up putting the Longbottoms and the Potters in the crosshairs of Lord Voldemort.
This caused a chase to break out, with ‘You Know Who’ himself going after Harry’s family and the Death Eaters going after the Longbottoms.
While the first family died, Neville’s parents were tortured in such a cruel way that they lost their sanity – and just this part involving the persecution suffered by the couple, members of the Order of the Phoenix, would be worth an episode, which would certainly also yield shocking moments.
7. Tom Riddle’s past

Even though Harry Potter and the Prince’s enigme be seen by many as a good adaptation of the book for theaters, it left a lot to be desired by not showing much of Tom Riddle’s past.
The book deals with various aspects of the character, such as the involvement of his mother, who was a witch, with his Muggle father, his passage through the orphanage, meeting Dumbledore and even his journey at Hogwarts and the development of a taste for the Arts. of Darkness, something that can certainly yield good scenes in the series.
