An entry-level smartphone with nice trappings
The first point on which the Samsung Galaxy M23 could convince you is its 6.6-inch screen, which has nothing to envy to other smartphones in its category. Here we have a TFT panel in Full HD + definition (1080 x 2408 pixels) with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. Enough to ensure a certain comfort in watching videos and browsing. As for the design, nothing can distinguish one Samsung Galaxy from another, so if the M23 has the same head as an S23, it is rather a good point.
As for the camera, it is more anecdotal and it is often this part of the smartphone that is sacrificed to lower its price. The Samsung Galaxy M23 features a 50MP wide-angle main sensor (f/1.8), 8MP ultra-wide-angle (f/2.2), 2MP macro sensor (f/ 2.4) and an 8 Mpx front sensor (f / 2.2). The lenses are equipped with the optical stabilization that is usually found on high-end models. The quality of the pictures is correct but nothing more.
A good price/performance ratio
The Samsung Galaxy M23 runs on a Qualcomm processor, a Snapdragon 750G with eight cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz. This mid-range SoC provides good performance for internet browsing, it can even launch 3D games provided you do not have too heavy a hand on the graphic quality. On the other hand, performance can quickly be limited in multitasking because this smartphone has only 4 GB of RAM.
Like entry-level and mid-range smartphones, autonomy is also a strong point with this Samsung Galaxy M23. Its 5000 mAh battery allows it to last a day and a half, or even two in moderate use, before falling flat. But the other side of the coin, and this is a problem for all Samsung Galaxy, is that the recharge amounts to only 25 W. It will take at least a good hour to fully recharge it. Finally, the charger is not provided in the box.
