The new heist shooter Payday 3 is scheduled to be released this year, but solid information is still scarce. Now there is at least a first short teaser – and details should now follow promptly.
Anyone who has been waiting for information about Payday 3 has had it anything but easy so far. Because although the new heist shooter from Starbreeze and Prime Matter has been officially confirmed, we don’t really know much about the title to date – apart from the general release period of 2023. That is about to change, slowly but surely.
The developers have now released a first 20-second teaser clip for Payday 3, which acts as a kind of introduction. However, various logos & Co. take up a large part of the running time of the video, so this doesn’t really give much insight either.
However, it shouldn’t be long before the first tangible details and impressions are available, as the makers now concede in a corresponding update on Steam. It reads: “We’re now five months into the Payday 3 year without a ton of game-related information being released. This is frustrating for many of you, but we promise it’s worth the long wait Our team has worked very hard on the game and despite everything, this is still the year of Payday 3. We’re almost ready to lift the curtain and show you all how the game is progressing.”
The posting therefore includes two essential pieces of information: 1) The release is still planned for 2023, so there was no postponement. And 2) Solid information is not long in coming. It also fits that real gameplay from the Heist shooter is promised for “this summer”.
Starbreeze had already confirmed the continuation of the Heist Shooter series with a third part in 2021 and brought 2023 into play as the release period. In addition, there should also be a film or TV adaptation, but here too more concrete information is missing.
