Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been a resounding success so far MCU, which brings the story of the unequal space chaos to an (almost) perfect end. We denote the film in our criticism as one of the “best of the entire MCU”, although there were still a few things to criticize. Still, we see the comic book extravaganza as a “really nice ending” to director James Gunn’s trilogy. Meanwhile, an unexpected voice joins the praise: the animal welfare organization PETA gives an award to James Gunn and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Spoiler Alert for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!
PETA crowns Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as Best Animal Welfare Film of 2023
PETA has hailed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as an “animal welfare masterpiece,” stating that the film takes moviegoers “on an emotional rollercoaster ride as it exposes the ills of animal testing.”
Much of this is due to Rocket’s backstory. Viewers learn that he is a creation of the film’s antagonist, Des High Evolutionary, is. His goal is to create the “perfect” life form to populate a “counter-earth”. And by all means.
In the film, he is shown “tinkering” with all kinds of animals, torturing them and even burning them to complete his mission. During his experiments, he keeps Rocket trapped in a dark and dingy cage along with three other creations: Lylla, Teefs, and Floor.
You can see the parallels in the film between her story and the millions of animals that are tested on every day. This is why PETA James Gunn has the Not a Number Award awarded for Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
The animal rights organization stated, “James Gunn’s screenplay does not shy away from the harsh (but often real) subject matter, and we are thrilled with a story about empathy for all living, sentient beings.”
“PETA pays tribute to Gunn (who is also the film’s director) with the “Not a Number Award”.
