Betas and other test phases are great for finding out what isn’t quite running smoothly in your own game. Community feedback is essential to root out bugs overlooked from operational blindness. Obviously, Diablo IV also received some unenthusiastic voices after the server slam, primarily from Necromancer players.
It’s really not long until the release of Diablo IV. Activision Blizzard’s action role-playing heavyweight will finally be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on June 6, 2023 after a long wait.

In the run-up to such an important release, extensive test phases rarely do any harm. After the open and closed beta, a server slam took place this weekend. The name indicates very subtly what the developers want to achieve: put the network infrastructure to the test to see whether it can really cope with the onslaught of the final release.
In this case, not only did Blizzard’s technicians learn a lot, the developers also received valuable feedback. The Necromancer players in particular were dissatisfied. The reason: the class was significantly nerfed compared to the beta, but many fans found it to be far too weak. Rod Fergusson, Diablo boss at Blizzard, seems to agree.
Definitely hearing the feedback on the Necro nerfs. I’m feeling ’em too. Remember, balance is journey, not a destination – it takes tweaking to get it right.

He tweeted: “We’ve heard your feedback on the Necro nerfs. I agree. Remember, balance is a journey, not a destination. There’s a lot to adjust to get things right.”
Another issue is also addressed, this one related to the goblins. The beasts just didn’t want to lose any loot. According to Fergusson, they are also aware of this problem and are already working on a solution.
