PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting new games again. The new additions to Extra and Premium are here, offering plenty of choice for both PS4 and PS5 players.
After the essential games for May 2023 already been available for download for two weeks, the new additions to PS Plus Extra and Premium can now also be used at no additional cost. All you need to get started is a paid PS Plus membership at the appropriate level.
This time, the extra library has been expanded to include some larger games. These include Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Dishonored 2 and Tomb Raider in the Definitive Edition. Premium members can jump into “Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow”, among other things. The full list includes many more games.

After the announcement of the new games for the extra library, there was a moment of confusion. Initially, “Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town” was taken off the list, but returned a little later. After that, “Soundfall” disappeared, which is now only offered in Asia. As for the premium games, everything remained as previously announced.

The games for PS Plus Extra and Premium can be enjoyed without restrictions as long as they remain in the libraries of the service. In contrast, Essential games can be reserved for permanent use by being packaged into a PlayStation player’s personal PSN library with a PlayStation Plus membership.

In case there’s nothing for you this time: Next month will follow at lightning speed and will once again bring new games for all three PS Plus tiers. The dates can be predicted as usual. Because it usually stays the same: Essential games are unlocked on the first Tuesday of the month and announced on the Wednesday of the previous week. Then it’s the turn of the new additions for Extra and Premium. Sony rarely deviates from this approach.
Probable PS Plus dates for June:
Essential announcement on May 31, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Essential unlock on June 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. Extra/Premium announcement on June 14, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. Extra/Premium unlock on June 20, 2023 at 11 clock
At least in the case of the essential newcomers, there will probably be a leak in advance.
