Harrison Ford will star again in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate at his current age, but we’ll also see him looking like he did in the first movies.
In Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate we will see Harrison Ford again in the role of Indy. On the one hand, it will return with its current appearance, as an 80 year old man who dresses in his archaeologist outfit and wields his trademark whip once more. On the other hand, we will also have a rejuvenated version of Harrison Ford at the opening of the film.
During the press conference of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate that took place at the Cannes Film Festival, one of the questions that arose was whether we would see new films from Indiana Jones in the future starring a joven Harrison Ford.
Harrison Ford is “very happy” with his current age
Kathleen Kennedypresident of Lucasfilmresponded with a resounding: “No”, but Harrison Ford expanded a little more to answer the question: “Technology […] has evolved to the point where, it looks very realistic to me”.
“I know that that’s my face -not the magic of Photoshop-“explained the Indy actor. “This was how I looked 35 years agobecause Lucasfilm has all the frames of movie that we have done together during all these years”.
“This process, that scientific extraction from that library was put into practice,” he added. Harrison Fordexplaining that if there was no good purpose for doing it, it wasn’t worth it, and that something real had to be conveyed through it: “I’m not talking about the visual, I mean the emotionally real.”
Harrison Ford is convinced that facial reconstruction technology to rejuvenate it it was used very well in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate, but he doesn’t want to “be that guy again”: “I am very happy aged, I love being older. It was cool to be young, but shit, he could be dead.”
