The Google Pixel 7a has already faced a tough stress test where it has proven its worth and now we can finally see what’s inside, all thanks to YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. Despite this, the cell phone had some problems when disassembled, serving as an alert for anyone who wants to repair it on their own.
Right from the start, we see that the back of the Google Pixel is plastic, which means that it can be removed without fear of being broken, but the youtuber did not have a surprise: the plastic melts easily when exposed to heat. This was discovered when Zack used a hot air gun to loosen the adhesive used to attach the back to the smartphone.
The heat was enough to deform the back cover of the cell phone, which will need to be replaced. Another bad news is the use of 15 screws to fix the internal components; here the problem is not the quantity, but the type, as they are all T4, which require a specific key to be removed.
When removing the battery, we noticed a peculiarity: the Pixel 7a has a capacity of 4,385mAh, that is, 30mAh more than the standard Pixel 7.
Moving on, we find another curiosity: a kind of window behind the Pixel 7a screen, which is usually used to keep a camera under the screen, but here contains the proximity and brightness sensors.
Finally, the phone still works perfectly after being reassembled, except for the back cover, which had to be replaced, so it’s best to keep your Pixel 7a away from the heat.
The Google Pixel 7a is not yet available in Brazilian stores. To be notified when it arrives.
