House of the Dragon Season 2 is currently filming. And an image of the latter has just confirmed the arrival of a tragic event. Prepare the tissues, season 2 promises to be tragic!
House of the Dragon tourne sa saison 2
After a highly acclaimed Season 1, HBO has automatically embarked on a Season 2 for its House of the Dragon series. It must be said that the spin-off of Game of Thrones achieved audience records that even the main series had not reached. The goal is therefore to offer fans of this new series a sequel as soon as possible. But let’s not mix speed and haste! HBO still wanted to do things right!
The scripts for all eight episodes were finalized months ago, long before the strike began. Each episode had the right to four or five drafts and many revisions in order to meet HBO’s expectations, mine, budget issues and so on.
George R.R. Martin
This is indeed what we understood following the speech of George RR Martin, the author of Fire and Blood, the novel which serves as the basis for House of the Dragon. The guy wanted to reassure fans who were worried about a postponement because of the famous writers’ strike. But according to him, not only is the script complete, but it has also been worked over and over again to ensure its quality. Thus, it should not a priori need any alterations. In any case, the filming is progressing well and some images are even revealed to us in dribs and drabs. The one that interests us today confirms that this season 2 promises to be tragic. Warning, if you haven’t read Fire and Blood, the second part of this article contains important spoilers.
A tragic event will take place
If you’ve watched the first season of House of the Dragon and read Fire and Blood, you already know that the show’s showrunners took some liberties with George RR Martin’s book. Freedoms that are easily explained since the latter takes the form of a historical narrative but is above all biased and filled with unknown variables. Readers are therefore waiting to see what sauce they will be eaten in season 2 and what events will take a different turn. And if you were hoping to see some characters survive the Dance of the Dragons, sorry but that will not be the case for Meleys.
The dragon of Rhaenys will indeed lose her head. At least that’s what this photo suggests, showing a foam model being carried through the streets of King’s Landing. Logically, this model should be transformed into a dragon’s head digitally. And logically, it should be the head of Meleys. In the book, the dragon is indeed killed by Vhagar and Feux-du-Soleyl during the siege of Rooks’ Rest and her head sent to King’s Landing, to the cheers of the inhabitants. It remains to be seen what the series will choose to do with Rhaenys. The charred body found next to Meleys is indeed identified as his in Fire and Blood, but without any proof. And that strongly reminds of a certain Laenor, doesn’t it?
