Codemasters and Electronic Arts have unveiled the first official onboard of the Las Vegas circuit where, in several months, the Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held, obviously captured on ea sports F1 23. The gameplay, in addition to showing us the track, also leaves room for some reflection on an aspect much criticized in the past chapters, namely Artificial Intelligence. But let’s proceed in order.
The Las Vegas circuit can be defined in only one way: very fast. Players will be able to whiz along the Strip of the Entertainment Capital at almost 350 km/h. The Red Bulls of max verstappen and Checo Perez will probably overcome this barrier too, given the enormous top speeds achieved once the DRS is wide open. The Vegas setting is gorgeous, with gorgeous colors everywhere, and Codemasters has faithfully recreated the track thanks to photogrammetry and laserscan techniques.
As we said, the gameplay leaves room for reflection on the opposing AI. F1 players have always hated the AI’s tendency to close the door as if no one was there, despite the fact that the player was now side by side with his own wheel even in front of the opponent’s front one. From what little we could glimpse in this gameplay, the AI now seems more aware of the position of the other cars and less prone to make killer closes.
We clarify that this is only a first impression dictated by an official video and which will be carefully verified during the review phase. In the trailer we can also see some suit, helmet and driver skins, where it stands out the presence of official Red Bull liveries focused on Max Verstappen, Official Ambassador of EA SPORTS.
In the meantime, we refer you to second EA SPORTS F1 23 Deep Dive. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox on June 16, 2023.
