Lexar NM790 drives do not have DRAM cache, but support HMB 3.0 (Host Memory Buffer) technology, which uses the system’s DRAM. The manufacturer notes that thanks to this, the power consumption of Lexar NM790 drives is 40% less than that of PCIe 4.0 SSD models with on-board cache memory. The memory controller model is not specified, but it is noted that it is produced according to the 12-nm process technology and complies with the NVMe 1.4 protocol.
For the 512 GB SSD model, sequential read and write speeds of up to 7200 and 4400 MB / s are claimed, for more capacious models these figures are 7400 and 6500 MB / s, respectively. Performance in random read and write operations for new products reaches 1 million IOPS. For the younger model, a rewrite resource of 500 TBW (a terabyte of overwritten information) is declared, for versions of 1 and 2 TB – 1000 and 1500 TBW.
The company indicates the compatibility of Lexar NM790 drives not only with PCs and laptops, but also with PlayStation 5 game consoles. A five-year manufacturer’s warranty is provided for new items.
The manufacturer estimated the Lexar NM790 512 GB drive model at 44 British pounds, the 1 and 2 TB versions at 65 and 120 British pounds, respectively.
