Leaks and rumors have been talking about it for so long, but here’s the official case, finally: Metal Gear Solid 3 will be entitled to its remake. The announcement was made during the PlayStation Showcase last night, as well as a nice surprise for any MGS fans you may be a part of.
The whole saga back, or almost
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is therefore the official name of the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake. Showcasing. It was definitely one of the highlights of the show, which also ended with an additional surprise: the announcement of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection.
This compilation will therefore bring together Metal Gear Solid first of the name, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, all in a “Master Collection” version whose treatment still remains to be truly defined. We recall that an MGS HD Collection had already emerged on PS3 and Xbox 360, but these new ports are in any case planned at least on PlayStation 5.
More MGS ports to come
Another detail that is important: we are talking about the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. We can therefore say without difficulty that a volume 2 is also in the pipeline, the content of which remains to be defined. On the presentation image of the first volume, a “surprise” is announced to us.
Obviously, we think of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain without forgetting the PSP opus, but these games are probably reserved for volume 2 mentioned above. Regarding the “surprise” of this Vol. 1, maybe we’ll get the first Metal Gear, or even a demo of MGS3 Remake… who knows? We will have to be patient to discover all this: Anyway, here’s a little word from Konami about this compilation.
(…) we will offer the MGS series: MASTER COLLECTION. The most complete compilation that celebrates the 35th anniversary of the series. The MGS: MASTER COLLECTION series allows fans to play the games as they were when they were released, on the latest platforms.
A priori therefore, the rendering would be faithful to the original one. A real nostalgic trip in anticipation, which will land in the fall of 2023.
