05/25/2023 at 16:45 by Norman Wittkopf – Nine years after the release of The Talos Principle, the acclaimed philosophy puzzle game is getting a second part, which is scheduled for release later this year.
Developer Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that The Talos Principle 2 will be released in 2023 for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. The gameplay of the acclaimed first part is to be expanded “with even more amazing puzzles, new puzzle mechanics, a deep story, more secrets and the largest and strangest world Croteam has ever created”.
The story is once again set in a distant future where mankind has long since died out and human culture survives only through robots modeled after humans. In search of a mysterious megastructure, players will be confronted with questions “about the nature of the cosmos, faith versus reason and the fear of repeating humanity’s mistakes”. An announcement trailer and first screenshots provide a foretaste.

The Talos Principle 2: New gameplay and deep story
In the second part of The Talos Principle (buy now), familiar puzzles are said to return, “accompanied by unique new gameplay such as telepathy and gravitational manipulation”. It also promises a “deep, character-driven story with multiple endings” that Croteam and Devolver Digital say is wonderful to lose yourself in.
In keeping with this, there should be a “series of strange, breathtakingly beautiful environments” to explore, “including a city on the brink of a paradigm shift and an island that holds the key to the future”. The Talos Principle 2 is set to be the biggest, most ambitious and most thought-provoking game Croteam has ever made. For more details on the sequel, visit the game’s official website.
