EA presented the fifth season today. You can watch a gameplay trailer and find out what’s new. There is also an Elite Edition listed on the PS Store.
Season 5 is ready! Electronic Arts uploaded the gameplay trailer for the upcoming Battlefield 2042 season about an hour ago. It’s called New Dawn and, as expected, introduces several new pieces of content. On June 6th you can throw yourself in.
New map, weapons and grenades
There is also a new map underneath that takes you to the Czech Republic. The name: “Recaptured”. Here you fight in an abandoned factory that has been reclaimed by nature. That explains the name.
Aside from the new map, an existing map is getting a redesign. This time it’s Hourglass’s turn, but only during the course of the season. You can expect a more compact environment and more cover options.
New weapons are also included:
XCE Bar Bolt Action Rifle: This sniper has decent shooting power and is very accurate. On the other hand, the rate of fire is low. So bring good aim!
GEW-46 Assault Rifle: A variant of the German G36 described as very accurate.
BFP .50: A hand cannon modeled after the Deasert Eagle. Thanks to sniper ammo, you deal powerful damage. Assuming you can handle the recoil.
Next we have three new grenades. The jump grenade will detonate before detonating, allowing you to use it to engage enemy infantry. Then there’s the AT grenade, which you throw at vehicles and immediately explodes. The latest addition are the mini grenades, of which you have three.
In addition to new content, there are also some improvements. Because many players asked for it, the development team has improved the squads. You can set up your own squads, join others and/or pass on the command.
Vault weapons will also be revamped. Several modifications are planned here. In addition, an in-game event is to be expected.
