Former British Cruiserweight Champion Johnny Nelson (45-12-2, 29 KOs) appreciated the decision of the judges in the fight for the undisputed world lightweight champion title between Vasily Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs).
“I think that the decision of the judges is nonsense. Before the fight, I said that Haney would win. He didn’t win this fight. In my opinion, he did not win. We don’t know if this is incompetence or swindle.
I don’t understand how people pick up this wave and say that Haney won. No, he didn’t win, watch the fight! Just watch round after round and judge fairly. I thought Haney would win. So it would be easy for me to say that he won. No, he didn’t win,” Nelson said in an interview with the Lights Out YouTube channel.
On the night of May 20-21, Haney defeated Lomachenko in Las Vegas on points (116-112, 115-113, 115-113) and retained all of his belts.
