However, despite the difficulties, Daedalic Entertainment wants to continue to bet on Middle Earth for his next production
As reported by the newspaper games economythe team behind The Lord of the Rings Gollum would already have another game focused on in the pipeline The Lord of the Ringswith the German government that would have allocated over 2 million euros to finance the project, money not used for the development of the work published last May 25th.
Furthermore, it seems that these funds would have already been paid in June 2022 and, although it is not certain that the works on this second project started in the same period, it is very probable that the development is already well underway: in fact we are talking about a possible release as early as August 2024, net of delays or unforeseen events. As far as the nature of the game is concerned, Daedalic Entertainment’s next The Lord of the Rings should be an Action / Adventure focused on an unpublished story, with the player being able to influence the game world around him through his actions.
While waiting to see this other project in action, several developers defended The Lord of the Rings Gollum showing solidarity with Daedalic’s colleagues after the negative reception given to the work.
