One of the biggest surprises at the recent Sony PlayStation Showcase was the presentation of S-Game’s Phantom Blade Zero. The studio revealed more information, such as the duration of the game.
During the Q&A session held on Discord, the studio answered several important questions. First, we now know that Phantom Blade Zero will take gamers up to 30-40 hours to play through the main story. Multiplayer is also confirmed.
All fight scenes are shot on the engine, they are real, but a more “cinematic” camera was used to shoot the trailer, some angles are set on purpose. The current game will have a stable camera with a great view. The combat will look much sharper, but less spectacular than in the trailer (or it will be too dizzying). The main story alone takes about 30-40 hours to complete, and there are plenty of side quests to play around with. Upon completion of the story mode, players are presented with a plethora of end-game content, including various multiplayer dungeons, boss battles, rogue chasms, and more. Kind of a mix, the adventure map has multiple paths forward and the combat is similar to Ninja Gaiden. You can understand this as a traditional hack & slash with a half open world map instead of a line map. The early concept of the game has been written and developed since 2017, but limited to 2-3 core members. Actual development began in early 2022. Not that huge open world where you need a horse to get from point A to point B. But it has multiple paths and some open world elements. The mobile game Phantom Blade: Executioners is a prequel to Phantom Blade Zero, by playing it you will get some information about the characters and the world. Without a spoiler for sure.
Phantom Blade Zero doesn’t have a release date, but we do know it’s a PS5 console exclusive that should also be released on PC.
