The terrifying video of Alan Wake 2 from the PlayStation Showcase is joined by equally suggestive images of the characters, settings and scary creatures that will haunt the new paranormal adventure from Remedy Entertainment.
The new batch of in-game and in-engine shots offered to us by the Finnish software house is accompanied by an open letter that Sam Lake addressed to all fans of Alan Wake and to those who, especially after watching the video of the latest Sony event, are only now approaching this series.
Remedy senior exponent explains that Alan Wake 2 “will be our first survival horror: we thought it was the most suitable kind of experience to combine the story, atmosphere, rhythm and gameplay of the first chapter in a title that will offer the best of Remedy. We wanted this to be a brutal and agonizing game, but it’s still a narrative experience linked to the adventure of Alan Wake, so it’s a title with many facets. After all, darkness equals horror, but there are scenes set in daylight, quirky characters to interact with, lots of humor and a mystery to unravel. We therefore think that the horror component will integrate with every other aspect of the gamewithout the players running the risk of getting used to it or becoming desensitized to it”.
Remedy’s new survival horror adventure is scheduled to launch in October 17th on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. To those who follow us, we remind you that the gameplay of Alan Wake 2 will be shown during the Summer Game Fest 2023, and more precisely during the showcase organized by Geoff Keighley for the evening of Thursday 8 June.
