After the disastrous end of Game of Thrones season 8, George RR Martin and HBO initially angered many fans of the franchise. But the anger was quickly forgotten when she last year with House of the Dragon delivered a spin-off that broke record after record. In a new interview with the HBO boss, it becomes clear that one still has big plans for the series.
House of the Dragon should have at least 4 seasons
The HBO boss announced this good news Frances Bears in an extensive interview with Deadline. After the first season started with good ratings and high viewer numbers, the series was extended without further ado. “Negotiations are still ongoing and nothing has been decided yet,” says Orsi regarding the final length of the spin-off.
“George and Ryan [der Executive Producer] will meet after the writers’ strike […] and figure out at what point you want the series to end. Will it be four seasons? From where I’m standing now, I can’t imagine it being fewer than four. Maybe even more. We will see.”
They certainly won’t be short of material, the original novel by George RR Martin deals with 150 years Game of Thrones story and ends with the climatic dance of the dragons.
Season 2 production underway – when will it be out?
Production of the second season has Mid-April started in the UK and although many film sets have recently been paralyzed by the writers’ strike in Hollywood, according to initial reports, House of the Dragon has been spared. “We’ve only just started production, but what I’ve seen so far is really extraordinary,” says HBO boss Orsi about the current status. Even the first pictures from the set have already been made public.
Unfortunately, we have to put you off regarding the actual release of the series. House of the Dragon Season will, if all goes well, in the year 2024 to start. However, the sequel is only out eight instead of ten episodes exist and we have to do without one or the other familiar face. All decisions made by the creator of the GoT universe George RR Martin didn’t like it at all.
