Announced at CES 2023 at the beginning of the year, the Bespoke Family Hub Plus smart refrigerator with a huge touch screen is now available for pre-order. It is also the first Samsung refrigerator to support the latest Matter smart home standard.

Samsung’s eighth generation Bespoke Family Hub refrigerators from Samsung feature a huge 32-inch Full HD touchscreen, much larger than the 21.5-inch screen of the previous version. The refrigerators are compatible with the SmartThings system, supported Internet access for online shopping and watching videos, including TikTok. The novelty allows you to use the Samsung TV Plus service for free – thanks to this, you can watch 190 TV channels in the United States or about 80 channels in South Korea.
The new large-screen Bespoke Family Hub is also the first Samsung refrigerator to support the latest Matter smart home standard. The company promises that existing Family Hub refrigerators version 2.0 or later will be upgraded to the new Matter smart home standard in July.
With the Matter standard, your refrigerator can connect compatible devices such as smart lights, sockets, thermostats, and locks to your SmartThings app over Wi-Fi. With the refrigerator version of the SmartThings app, you can control your smart home right on the touch screen. The software update, which will bring Matter control to all Samsung Family Hub refrigerators in July, will also add Google Photos integration to turn the refrigerator into a digital photo frame and Amazon Essentials for one-click purchases on Amazon from the refrigerator.
A refrigerator with a 32-inch screen will cost about $1,000 more than a similar Samsung model without a screen. However, if you love the idea of watching Samsung TV Plus channels or online videos while you cook, creating on-screen digital notes, viewing recipes, controlling smart home devices and more, it’s all on the big screen now.
Samsung also says it has improved the cooking advice bar, which uses artificial intelligence to recommend recipes and meal plans based on your preferences. The refrigerator chambers are also equipped with artificial intelligence, which will be able to recognize the products in your refrigerator.
