It’s called Vodafone TV Play, and is the new TV Box presented by Vodafone in Portugal. This differs from the operator’s previous proposals, as it offers much more than the television service.
For starters, this bet on the Android TV operating system. This means that users now have access to all applications available on Google Play directly from the operator’s Box, such as a video and music streaming app.
New Vodafone Box can be controlled with Google Assistant in Portuguese
Because it has Android TV, it also has Google’s personal assistant in European Portuguese. In this way, users can dispense with the command and use only their voice to search and access entertainment, get answers, control the television and smart devices they have at home, in addition to being able to plan their day.
“Hey Google, turn off the television”, is just one of the examples of voice commands that can be given. You can also search for specific titles, or ask the assistant to suggest what to watch next with the command “Hey Google, what should I watch?”.
Vodafone TV Play has a Bang & Olufsen audio system
It has image up to 4K/UHD and HDR, and incorporates Dolby Atmos technology. But the most differentiating part is the fact that it has an audio system optimized by Bang & Olufsen. You can therefore expect an immersive and immersive acoustic experience directly from the Box.
As well as being part of your television’s sound system, this new Vodafone Box can also be used as a speaker to listen to music individually. To do so, simply connect your smartphone via Bluetooth or Google Cast, via Wi-Fi, and listen to music directly on it. And the television doesn’t even need to be on.
“Vodafone TV PLAY is more than a TV Box, it is a new simple and compact concept of the entertainment of the future in every room, with immersive sound, more personalized and intelligent”, says Inês Valadas, Manager of the Private Business Unit at Vodafone Portugal.
All Vodafone television customers can have this Box at home, and it will cost €5 per month in this launch phase. Vodafone TV Play will be included free of charge in Fiber Super Series Packages.
