Deadpool had an incredibly unique path to the big screen. Ryan Reynolds’ work on two solo films about the character has turned him into one of the most successful and in-demand actors. But for the first time, Deadpool appeared in the first solo film about Wolverine – X-Men Origins. A version codenamed “Weapon XI” was played in the third act by renowned fighter and actor Scott Adkins (“John Wick 4”). And according to him, the final version could be much worse.
“I know I was part of the problem with the first version of Deadpool,” admits Adkins. But I just did what I was told. Ryan wasn’t even around when we were filming. And when he saw what they were going to do, he must have been very annoyed. I thought I’d be in a signature suit. But the creators had other options for this. Everything could be much worse. Imagine Deadpool with an aquarium on his head. They considered several ideas and luckily chose not this one.”
But what is not done is all for the better, because now Deadpool and Ryan Reynolds are doing great. The third film about the adventures of a talkative mercenary is already being filmed with might and main. And there we are again waiting for a clash with Wolverine.
