A controller that takes up the features of the Xbox
Contrary to what its name might suggest, the Razer Wolverine V2 controller does not use the colors of a famous Marvel character, but rather those of the Xbox itself. In addition to the Xbox logo, we will thus find the asymmetrical placement of the joysticks, the colored XYBA buttons as well as two green borders, which also recall Razer’s flagship color. On the shoulders of the controller, there are also the traditional LT and LR triggers, the LB and LR buttons, as well as two new customizable bumpers M1 and M2.
One of the main advantages of the design of the Wolverine V2 is still the excellent grip that the accessory promises, so much so that it manages to surpass the official controller of the Microsoft console. We will thus be entitled to a non-slip rubber coating which completely encompasses the two handles, which makes wearing these handles in the palms particularly pleasant. Special mention also for the more hollow “L” design, which perfectly accommodates the middle fingers of players, while offering excellent stability. On the other hand, the big downside of this controller is undoubtedly the presence of its cable (which measures 3 meters), which cannot be replaced.
Hyper responsive buttons
The Razer Wolverine V2 also stands out for its action buttons, the XYBAs and the directional cross, known as “mecha-tactile”, which therefore act as a mechanical keyboard switch to reduce the running distance and thus save precious frames during your actions. As for the clicks, they are clear and precise, and provide very good tactile feedback. In comparison, the triggers, whose stroke length can be modulated, are a little more disappointing, with rather soft tactile feedback. We also regret the absence of vibrations in the triggers, which, in normal times, allow us to immerse ourselves much better in the action of our games.
Finally, it is possible to configure two buttons, the M1 and M2, which are located next to the triggers. Know first that they are located quite high on the controller, and that you can only reach them with your fingertips, which is not really practical. For configuration, this will happen on the Razer Controller Setup for Xbox software, available on the Microsoft Store on PC and on Xbox. Besides, the customization possibilities are rather limited. For example, you will not be able to perform macros allowing you to chain a series of combos in one key.
