Lost In The Open is a challenging turn-based roguelike RPG where you try to escape an assassination attempt in a procedurally generated low fantasy medieval world.
You lead your party as Nrwesk, ruler of Ruedom. His reign was bloody, oppressive and unjust. Nrvesk’s past crimes have caught up with him, and consequently he is now the target of an assassination attempt by his former allies in the royal court of Strata. However, he miraculously manages to escape from the castle through the back door.
Barely escaping murder, Nrvesk and two of his loyal guards got lost in the no-man’s-land between Strata and Rudom. You will need to lead the group through forests, mountains and swamps. Trade blows with bandits, royal guards and even more dangerous enemies, negotiate with merchants and recruit rogue recruits as you try to survive the unlikely journey back to Rudom.
Battles in Lost In The Open take place in a turn-based tile-based grid system designed to provide many tactical options. Each of your units can gain up to five abilities that you can upgrade throughout the game by leveling up your character and upgrading your skills.
Lost In The Open is designed to be a challenge. Enemies will pull you out of position, lure you into traps, and work as a team to flank you. Position your units to create an impenetrable front line, but don’t forget to protect your flanks and, most importantly, your king.
Lost In The Open will release on Steam Early Access in the fourth quarter of 2023.
