Top 10: Verstappen, Alonso, Ocon, Hamilton, Russell, Leclerc, Gasly, Sainz, Norris, Piastri
The race took place as part of the Monaco Grand Prix. Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won, while Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon rounded out the top 3.
Note that the first part of the race passed almost without interesting events, as the pilots in the top 10 kept their starting positions, but then it started to rain.
With 25 laps to go, it started to rain quite heavily, but it’s worth saying that Red Bull didn’t get knocked out. Verstappen, having driven several laps on a wet track, calmly switched to intermediate tires and was right.
But Fernando Alonso, who was second, did not switch to intermediate tires, but replaced the tire with slicks. And I was wrong. Immediately, the Spaniard was forced to pit again, returning to the track 20 seconds behind Verstappen. Let’s note the return to the podium of the pilot of Alpin Esteban Okon.
Ferrari pilots did the worst in the rain, who could have been in the top 5 together, but ended up finishing outside the top five.
We note the unsuccessful weekend of Sergio Perez, who after the race loses 39 points to Verstappen in the overall standings.
