In recent days, the PR manager of CD Projekt RED has denied the negotiations with Sony after rumors of a possible acquisition had returned to circulate on the net at the end of May. The Polish company is not for sale.
This message was reiterated loud and clear by the CEO of CD Projekt REDAdam Kiciński, during the most recent meeting with shareholders:
“I can tell you that nothing has changed and as we have been repeating for years, CD Projekt is not for sale, our goal is to remain independent. We have a growth strategy and we want to work to build our future. Those you read on the net are just rumors.”
CD Projekt will invest more and more on The Witcher with numerous projects in development such as The Witcher Remake in Unreal Engine 5The Witcher 4 and a multiplayer game of the saga, also space for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, Cyberpunk Orion and other projects.
The Witcher 3 is a 50 million copy success, the Strigo saga has sold over 75 million copies to date becoming one of the most successful IPs of recent years. And even Cyberpunk 2077 after a problematic debut recorded growing sales in 2021 and 2022.
