The film series about the contract killer John Wick has risen to become one of the big brands in the action area in recent years. After a hex field strategy title, the production studio Lionsgate has now announced: A AAA game is in the making. It is also now clear that the fifth film will be produced.
The first flick with John Wick didn’t appear until 2014, but since then the series featuring the assassin played by Keanu Reeves has become one of the biggest brands in the action area. The fourth film, John Wick: Chapter 4, was recently released in cinemas, but the producers at Lionsgate are not planning to take a break.

Joa Drake, the chairman of the Motion Picture Group, spoke about the upcoming plans as part of a profit announcement. A fifth strip is in the planning stage, which is supposed to organically continue the story of the almost invincible “black man”. With Ballerina, a spin-off will also be released in film form next year, and work is continuing on the series “The Continental”, which is probably about the hotel of the same name.
But there’s also good news for video gamers: According to Drake, Lionsgate is working on a game at AAA level. A cover shooter would be obvious in our opinion, but we really don’t know anything about the title at this point in time. Only its existence has been confirmed so far, so it will probably take a while until we have concrete information or a first trailer.
This still very vague project does not mark John Wick’s first foray into the world of video games. John Wick Hex, a tactical role-playing game, was released in 2019, in which you proceed in rounds in cel-shading optics and send bad guys across the Jordan.
