Shortly after the official release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, speed runners were able to easily complete the title in under two hours. At this point, many users were already aware that this time would be significantly undercut in the coming weeks. Over the past few days, the records have been getting closer and closer to the one-hour mark, and now a speedrunner has finally managed to break it.
Speedrunner completes Tears of the Kingdom in under an hour
The latest world record comes from speedrunner Zdi, who was able to complete the game almost three minutes faster than the previous record holder. Zdi published the complete speed run on YouTube. So if you want to see how to beat the new Zelda spin-off in less than an hour, or you just want to know what tricks speedrunners use to achieve this impressive feat, then you shouldn’t miss the video. Here you will of course also be shown the end of the game.
Interestingly, the speedrunner spends most of their time on the tutorial island. After about 37 minutes, Zdi is done with it and sets off into the big wide world. So if speedrunners eventually manage to skip this step entirely, runs under 30 minutes will be within reach. However, many users on Reddit, among others, still doubt whether it will ever come to that.
