Bleach’s return to the small screen was a real event in the fall of 2022. After 10 years of waiting, manga fans could finally (re)discover the end of the adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki and Soul Society in anime with a modernized style that enchanted the press and the general public. However, his arrival in France was at the origin of a controversy for which only Disney + is responsible. Fortunately, the SVOD service seems to have learned from its mistakes for the second part of Thousand-Year Blood War.
Finally some simulcast for Bleach
It took until March 29, 2023 to finally see the first 13 episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War in France. Yet available in the majority of other countries in the world via Hulu in particular (in the United States), the animated series produced by Pierrot studios has long been desired which has not failed to annoy fans of the manga scripted and illustrated by Japanese author Tite Kubo. To fully understand the situation, the first episode of this new arc was broadcast on October 11, 2022, i.e. 5 and a half months before its arrival in France.
Accustomed to simulcast (for simultaneous broadcast) – i.e. the simultaneous broadcast of an anime in Japan and the rest of the world – with ADN and Crunchyroll, French japanimation fans logically railed against Disney+’s distribution strategy regarding Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War. At a time when an animated series is available to the four corners of the globe on D-Day, having to wait a semester is utter nonsense. The North American entertainment giant, however, seems to be listening to its subscribers. The streaming platform is preparing to rectify the situation from July with the promise of making the episodes of part 2 available in parallel with their broadcast in Japan. As a reminder, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Separation begins on July 8, 2023.
In June 2023 on Disney+
Before discovering the new adventures of Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War in July, it is advisable to take advantage of a month of June rich in new features on Disney+. The SVOD service celebrates the arrival of summer with content of various types – series, films, anime, documentaries – and genres. Of all the upcoming programs, the series Secret Invasion with the iconic Samuel L. Jackson in the role of Nick Fury, but also Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), is the event that should capsize fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of japanimation or more generally science fiction will be able to discover the latest episode of the post-apo animated nugget Tengoku-Daimakyo. Finally, moviegoers will be delighted to see or see again The King’s Man : Première Mission et Nightmare Alley.
