It looks like PC players can save some disk space.
The PC version of Diablo 4 offers a download of a high-resolution texture pack that increases the size of the game’s distribution by about 40 gigabytes – that is, almost doubled. PC Gamer decided to see if it was worth it.
Looks like the short answer is: don’t. In the screenshots published by the publication, it is almost impossible to determine where high-resolution textures are enabled and where they are not.
According to the developers, the difference between regular textures and HD textures will be best seen in 4K resolution. Sounds a bit dubious: the improvements should be noticeable at lower resolutions as well.
To enable HD textures, you need to go not to the Diablo 4 in-game settings, but to the game options in the Battle.net client (you can get there using the gear button). Disabling textures occurs in the same section.
