Roland Garros 2023. Round of 16
Bianca Andreescu (Canada) – Lesya Tsurenko (Ukraine) – 1:6, 1:6
This was the third meeting of the girls. Tsurenko won all 3 fights. Note that in 2019 Bianca won the US Open.
For the match, Lesya gave only one pitch. In the 1st game of the 2nd set, Andreescu made a break, but then Tsurenko took 6 games in a row.
For the fourth time in her career, the Ukrainian will play at this stage of the Grand Slam tournament and for the second time in Paris. In 2018, the Ukrainian did not finish the match against Garbigny Muguruza.
In the next round of the French Major, the Ukrainian will play with the first racket of the world, Iga Sventek. Last year, Tsurenko lost to Iga in the 2nd round of the French Major, and this season she lost to the thousandth in Rome.
Welcome back to the #RolandGarros last 16 @LTsurenko 🎉
