Although Cliff Blesinski has already left the world of video games and is no longer involved in Gears of War, a recent post from him on social media reveals how he would continue the story of a Microsoft exclusive game.
According to a former game designer at Epic Games, the best way to spice up Gears 6’s story would be the death of Marcus Fenix, the protagonist of the early chapters, who continues to be present in the brand’s new direction. Although the tweet doesn’t specifically explain why Cliff thinks the character should be dropped, it’s easy to imagine the series creator is eager to see something new and for the plot to finally focus only on new characters like Kate Diaz.
In one of the responses to the comments under the tweet, you can see that the former developer did not like the choice made by The Coalition in terms of storytelling, as he criticized the way the fifth chapter ends.
