The old games market usually brings some gems to the luckier ones, and one of these cases is the PAL version for the Mega Drive of Lakers vs Celtics and the NBA Playoffs. The game had a copy sold last Wednesday (31) for 7,800 pounds sterling (approximately R$ 48,000 in direct conversion).
The transaction took place at an auction held on eBay, where after 30 bids the buyer took home a copy of this rare game on the European continent.

Why is the game so rare?
The game has a very common version in the American continent (where it is usually sold for between US$ 5 and US$ 20, or about R$ 20 and R$ 100 at the current exchange rate) and would receive an edition destined for the European market. Although, ended up canceled shortly before launch, but a few stores had already received the product and marketed their copies anyway.
The Eurogamer website reports that that version was possibly canceled due to legal issues surrounding the NBA’s license in the European market. This meant that only 192 copies of the game were sold, but it is estimated that currently there are only 13 copies of it.
