iPadOS 17 brings most of the new features of iOS 17, as well as a number of special features designed for Apple tablets.
The key innovation in iPadOS 17 was the ability to interact with widgets and customize the lock screen, as was implemented in iOS 16 last year.
iPadOS 17 will be available this fall to users of the following iPad models:
iPad 6/7/8/9/10 (2018-2023);
iPad Pro (2017-2023);
iPad Air 3/4/5 (2019-2023);
iPad mini 5/6 (2019-2023).
The first developer beta will be released today, with public test builds expected by mid-July.
