It ended in a fiasco, therefore they do not confirm. Otherwise, they would crackle from every iron.
Yesterday afternoon, in the thematic channels on social networks, it was reported about the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the South Donetsk direction in the DPR. The offensive ended in failure, costing the Ukrainian troops several dozen pieces of equipment with a corresponding number of casualties in personnel. Tonight, the information was officially confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which described what happened as a “large-scale offensive” in five sectors of the line of contact (LBS) in the South-Donetsk direction.
In Kyiv, however, the fact of the offensive is not confirmed, stating that tactical groups are working in this direction, allegedly carrying out positional battles and conducting reconnaissance in force. No offensives, especially large-scale ones, were carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to official Kyiv.
Here, however, it is necessary to understand that “scale” is a loose concept. In Kiev, they put one meaning into it, in Moscow, for example, they are ready to pass off a strike as a “large-scale offensive”, as a result of which the opposite side lost only about forty pieces of equipment destroyed and abandoned.

In any case, there is no doubt that if the strike in this direction had been successful, then in Kyiv it would have been promoted as the beginning of their promised counteroffensive. The offensive that ended in a fiasco can be called “reconnaissance in force”, pretending that nothing happened.
