The Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost a huge amount of equipment and military personnel.
Yesterday afternoon, information was circulated on the Web about a major offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction of the contact line – in the area of the city of Vugledar. Even then it was obvious that the attempt of the Ukrainian forces to strike in this direction ended in failure, and now, just an hour and a half ago, the information about repulsing the offensive was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

From the official report, it follows that since yesterday morning (June 4), the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a large-scale offensive in five sectors of the front in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction with the help of two mechanized brigades from among the strategic reserves, with the support of “other military units and subunits.”
In total, six mechanized and two tank battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine participated in the offensive, the purpose of which, according to the plan, was to break through the defenses in the most vulnerable section of the line of contact in the view of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The result for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was the failure of the offensive and losses, which, according to the report of the Ministry of Defense, amounted to 16 tanks, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as 21 armored combat vehicles with a corresponding number of losses in personnel.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defense noted that the commander of the united group of troops in the NVO zone, the chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, was during the reflection of the contrast “at one of the advanced command posts in this direction.”

Obviously, this is not the last attempt of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to go on the offensive. Testimonies differ from source to source, but the Ukrainian army still has the strength for a “counterattack”. After all, we still have not seen on the line of contact all those huge quantities of Western armored vehicles, including the Leopard 1, Leopard 2 and Challenger 2 tanks, which were transferred to Ukraine from the winter and during the spring of this year. It can, of course, be assumed that a significant part of them were destroyed during the daily missile and bomb strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces, but one should not rely on this completely. So we don’t relax and we don’t throw tantrums for any reason: there will be dirty tricks from the other side of the LBS, and they will definitely be – such methods are now there.
