Tomorrow, June 6, the full release of Diablo IV will take place, and now the game is already available to buyers of extended versions of the project. Diablo franchise head Rod Ferguson told the Kinda Funny podcast that the studio is already hard at work on seasonal updates and is also working on DLC.
According to Fergusson, the Blizzard team that is working on Diablo IV is divided into groups. One of them is working on instant fixes (like balance changes or fixing bugs discovered by players), the other is working on seasonal content, the third is working on DLC. All this goes in parallel with the launch of the project itself:
Right now, as I’m talking to you, we’re getting ready to launch the main game, we’re finishing the first season at the same time, we’ve already started work on the second season, we’re working on the first DLC, and we’re launching the second DLC. It is important for us that the teams can work in parallel with each other. It is important to remember that it takes more time to create a season than it takes to complete it. It is unacceptable to wait for the end of the season to start working on the next one.
At the moment, Blizzard is not sharing details of the planned DLC for Diablo IV. Previously, the developers reported that they plan to release updates every 3 months, and there will be 3 battle passes for each season.
