Insomniac Games has explained that it will announce a release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 when the developers are completely sure. The position came at the end of the latest PlayStation Showcase controversy, with many frustrated by the lack of much-anticipated information.
Creative director Brian Intihar spoke on behalf of the company and answered a question posed to him by the Washington Post. Intihar explained that Insomniac wants to make sure that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases exactly on the day the developers announce.
Reading between the lines, we’re not on the verge of having a safe release date yet, or to put it simply, it’s a way to justify postponing information that might be given during a special event. . It is fair to say that the latter is our hypothesis.
Insomniac is a very accurate studio and has barely announced any delays to their games, with the exception of 2016’s Ratchet & Clank for PS4. Apparently he doesn’t want to end up like other development studios, namely announcing delays after revealing the release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Otherwise, the game is still expected on PS5 during 2023, so we believe the announcement should be soon. Rumors say September 2023 to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but we’ll let you know in due course.
