Several new previews of RoboCop: Rogue City, the first-person shooter featuring the 80s sci-fi icon, have surfaced online today, bringing new details, as well as a gameplay video of around 15 minutes, which you can watch right now.
From an article published by IGN, it became known that RoboCop: Rogue City will offer a campaign lasting about 20-30 hours. The story takes place between RoboCop films 2 and 3, and the decisions made by cybercop Alex Murphy influence the plot in the finale, although it’s unclear how much they will diverge.
In addition to sections where you will need to destroy everything that moves on the screen, the game has investigation stages, culminating in the collection of evidence and testimony, as well as operations to apprehend criminals inhabiting the streets of Detroit.
There will be secondary missions, also in this case with player decisions that will determine their progression and outcome. In fact, there will be several options in the dialogues, and in many cases they can also be resolved peacefully.
Players will also be able to choose how to upgrade the main character with combat skill upgrades, armor upgrades, and various gadgets available. For example, it will be possible to upgrade armor to such an extent that it can reflect projectiles from enemies or unlock a deadly electric wave that can destroy multiple targets at the same time.
RoboCop: Rogue City is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and is scheduled to launch in September 2023.
