Players and viewers can expect the launch of “Silent Hill: Ascension” this year. It’s a real-time streaming series more information was pouring in.
After the “Silent Hill” series was neglected for a few years, there are currently several projects in the works that are scheduled for launch soon. This includes Silent Hill: Ascension, a real-time streaming interactive series due out later this year.
But what exactly can fans of the series and all other interested viewers expect? Jacon Navok, the CEO of “Silent Hill: Ascension” studio Genvid Entertainment, recently provided some more details. Among other things, he made it clear that every stream in the series will be linked to a decision by the players or viewers. The entire community can thus influence the outcome of the story.
For example, participants who log in once a day will be able to “see every decision that’s available over the next 24 hours.” The most important decisions should be displayed even further in advance.
“Every stream comes with a decision. The schedule for the streams will only be announced shortly before going live as we are still working on the optimization”, according to the CEO.
Even players with less time can participate
Navok further explained that the decisions are primarily made by the viewers or players in real time through QTEs. But all interested parties who cannot log in every day should also have the opportunity to influence the outcome of the story. There are certain community puzzles to solve, which they can play at their own pace.
At the same time, all previous streams are archived, so participants can catch up on parts of the storyline if they missed a previous stream.
After the series’ first run, “what if” mini-seasons are scheduled to air, in which the community’s choices for the original series — which is considered canonical — are hidden and viewers are able to make other choices that lead to different decisions.
